COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS – MARCH 10, 2008

CITY OF STACYVILLE

 

Mayor Pro Tem Gervin Halbach called the regular March meeting of the Stacyville City Council to order at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2008, with council members Gervin Halbach, Walter Carter, Paul Halbach, and Roger Hemann present.  Absent was Roger Brumm.  The Mayor Pro Tem then welcomed all guests and called for approval of the meeting agenda.  Carter moved to accept the agenda, seconded by P. Halbach and carried. Hemann moved to accept the minutes, seconded by Carter and carried.

 

Mayor Pro Tem Halbach opened the Public Hearing for the 2008/2009 City Budget at 7:33.  The clerk reviewed the items in the budget.  No comments were received.  Hemann moved and P. Halbach seconded to close the Public Hearing at 7:35.  All voted aye.  Carter moved and Hemann seconded by RESOLUTION 2008-2 TO APPROVE THE 2008/2009 CITY OF STACYVILLE CITY BUDGET WITH TOTAL TAX ASKINGS OF $83,847.  All voted aye.

 

Tom Madden of Yaggy Colby was not present, so the agenda items related to the Water Project Phase II and the Industrial Park were not discussed.

 

Hemann moved and Carter seconded to approve the Beer License and Sunday permit and the Cigarette License for K & N Mini Mart.  All voted aye.

 

Pay raises were discussed.  Hemann moved and Carter seconded to give Harlan Bisbee, City Clerk a $50.00 per month increase and give David Zacharias, Police Chief a $.50 per hour increase and to give Jay Adams, Fire Chief a $5.00 per week increase of which the City is responsible for 40%.  These three raises will be effective July 1, 2008.  To give Mark Heimer a $1.00 per hour increase when he gets his wastewater license.  All voted aye.

          The next regular meeting will be held on the second Monday, April 14, 2008 at 7:30 p.m.

 

                Motion to adjourn at 8:05 by Hemann second by Carter and carried.
